Since the Vietnam War they have lived in chronic stigma. They would greatly benefit by some auxiliary agency that cared to offer alternative services in new scalable, financially viable ways, rather than a shameful policy of non-action and broken promises for so many war-torn veterans who come home, physically and emotionally compromised, traumatized, and too often marginalized for what they paid in the belief of their service. MHRF plans for a “model community-based setting” of innovative cluster-formulated housing that includes comprehensive wrap-around services with clinical health support, tailored to their unique, specific needs as veterans and their families.

ince the 1980s, US Veterans have been disproportionately represented in the homeless population. Recent estimates show they make up a significant portion of the overall US homeless population. They are at elevated risk of homelessness with one in ten having experienced it at some point in their lives. MHRF, Inc. with the adjunct MHRF Housing Initiative is committed to reversing this trend by focusing on research, community engagement, and equitable solutions, that will improve their lives.
