Richard Renehan lived in Manchester, Massachusetts since 1969 and now resides in Danvers, Massachusetts with his wife Beata and 11 year old daughter Rosie. Renehan graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Merrimack College in North Andover. He has worked as a sail maker and a teacher of ESL in Spain and East Boston.
Renehan is owner and President of Renco Corporation, a 59 year, USA manufacturer of gloves, polymers and contamination control products. Renco’s gloves and products have been used widely in containment, aseptic and isolation environments and for Covid-19 testing. Renco’s gloves have been used for patient, practitioner, and product protection and were even designed and deployed on the International Space Station.
Renehan and Renco started American Performance Polymers (APP) to address the need for US manufacturing of medical exam gloves and to meet the needs for Berry Compliant and BAA requirements of the DLA. The APP factory in Colebrook, New Hampshire, is shipping Nitrile Medical Exam gloves to end-users and distributors including MSC and Thermo-Fisher Scientific. His next ventures include NBR raw materials and medical device sterilization.
Richard has been a member of the Standards Committee of the American Glovebox Society since 1991 and has presented white papers at their annual conventions and at conferences for the ISPE (International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers) and the PDA (Parenteral Drug Association). Renehan has been published in the A2C2, Cleanrooms Magazine and more recently in Facility and Safety Management. He has been cited many times through the years on cleanroom, medical, polymer and glove topics.
Richard’s hobbies include writing, photography, and yoga. He served on the Board of www.searts.org and he was a “Big Brother” for 8 years to a Cape Ann youth in the Big Brother Association.
